After years of planning, saving and a great deal of waiting, our home on Gandhi Nagar is finally ready. On Sunday morning we will light the lamp, boil the first milk and walk in together.பல ஆண்டுக் கனவு, சேமிப்பு, காத்திருப்புக்குப் பிறகு காந்தி நகரில் எங்கள் இல்லம் தயாராகிவிட்டது. ஞாயிறு காலை விளக்கேற்றி, முதல் பால் காய்ச்சி, ஒன்றாக உள்ளே நுழைகிறோம்.
A house only becomes a home once the people we love have filled it. Please come, bless us, and eat with us.நாம் நேசிப்பவர்கள் நிறையும்போதுதான் வீடு இல்லமாகிறது. தயவுசெய்து வந்து ஆசி வழங்கி, எங்களுடன் உணவருந்துங்கள்.

The rangoli is drawn here at dawn and the first guests will sit here with a glass of buttermilk.விடியலில் இங்கே கோலம் போடப்படும். முதல் விருந்தினர் இங்கே அமர்ந்து மோர் அருந்துவர்.
Hallகூடம்
The ceremony happens here. Sit anywhere — there are plenty of mats and a few chairs for elders.விழா இங்கேதான் நடக்கும். எங்கு வேண்டுமானாலும் அமருங்கள் — பாய்கள் நிறைய உண்டு, பெரியவர்களுக்கு நாற்காலிகளும் உண்டு.
Puja roomபூஜை அறை
A small corner with a big lamp. The homam and the first prayers are offered at its door.சிறிய மூலை, பெரிய விளக்கு. ஹோமமும் முதல் பிரார்த்தனையும் இதன் வாசலில்.
Kitchenசமையலறை
Paal kaachuthal — the first pot of milk is boiled here until it overflows, so the home never runs short.பால் காய்ச்சுதல் — முதல் பால் பொங்கி வழிய, வீட்டில் எப்போதும் குறைவே இருக்கக் கூடாது என்று.
Diningஉணவறை
Lunch is served here in two rounds, and in the garden shamiana for the overflow.மதிய விருந்து இங்கே இரண்டு பந்திகளாக; கூட்டம் அதிகமானால் தோட்டப் பந்தலில்.
Bedroomsபடுக்கை அறைகள்
Two rooms are kept ready for relatives travelling from far. Our kids have already claimed the window bed.தொலைவில் இருந்து வரும் உறவினருக்காக இரண்டு அறைகள் தயார். ஜன்னல் அருகில் உள்ள கட்டிலை எங்கள் குழந்தைகள் ஏற்கனவே பிடித்துவிட்டனர்.

Fresh milk is boiled in the new kitchen until it overflows. The first cup is shared with everyone present.புதிய சமையலறையில் பால் பொங்கி வழியக் காய்ச்சப்படும். முதல் கோப்பை அனைவருக்கும் பகிரப்படும்.
